Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

08 H2 service 4×4, stabilitrak, traction. Remote start not working

I hope it's the dumbass switch/dial.
or get you a Tech2 scanner.
IMO, every H2 owner should have a Tech2 scanner.
Then again a Hummer isn’t for everyone.

I cannot impress the importance of owning a Tech 2. If you own an H2 YOU MUST own a Tech 2, I can guarantee it will pay for itself the first time you find and resolve a problem with your H2.

I have had issues in each of my H2's, my 05 had a bad ignition coil, and bad heater door, my 06 had air suspension issues and my 08 had a drivers door module issue and broken wire in the harness going from the drivers door aux fuse panel. These were all identified by superior diagnostic capabilities of the Tech 2. I also have an Xtools D9 pro tool that while can do a great deal more then the Tech 2 for general automotive, but when it comes to the H2 the Tech2 has no equal IMO.

It's a must have unless you like to give your hard earned money to the GM dealerships most of have no H2 mechanics anymore anyway.

Default This is from a reputable shop...

1st and foremost, I appreciate all responses.

"Based on the scan results, looks like O2 sensors, it has a misfire, and a communication issue with the transmission
Communication issue is the one I’m not completely sure what that would require to fix. Could be a module, or maybe just programming."

What do you all think ?

I have a GM Version Of the Tech II. When I had a Problem with trying to unlock a Ebay radio to work in my 09 years back, There was no section in the Tech II to Unlock any Radio. Now I don't have a subscription with GM to go online with my Tech II ....but I thought something should be in there to Unlock a Radio.

Your thoughts?/

Mark R, its a hidden menu that actually is in a different car line, your Tech 2 firmware version needs to be 30.004 or earlier here's the steps for a Radio delete Vin and relearn:

Tech 2 firmware version 30.004 (or earlier)

Select Year
2006
Passenger car
Chevrolet,
W (Product line)
monte carlo LTZ
Body and Accessories
Entertainment
F5 Module setup
F0 Vin Relearn
Do you want to clear radio theft information (acknowledge)
Begin clearing,
cycle ignition
radio online will relearn VIN from BCM and also set the H2 startup screen
On next power cycle radio should be online

If I remember correctly I needed to do this a couple of times to get it to work, I might have had my timing off on the ignition recycle. Hopefully this should get you online

My apologize to you Creepy,

Mark R asked about this in this thread and for what its worth the solution to your problem would easy be verified with the use of a Tech 2.

I wasn't trying to pollute or draw attention away from your issue.

Thanks: This was years back. The radio I bought was a Hail Mary. I ended up buying a New GM (Denso) Nav Radio as my Parts guy at the dealer got it for me at his cost. 50% off the retail. Then I had the GM dealer tech who is well experienced in TECH II and Programing did the job. This guy has been working on HUMMERS since day one and the dealer was an original HUMMER dealer.

He went online and got the correct programing for the 4 ch set up for the LUX version. I watched him do the deal. He had two 42" Monitors side by side and was Tech-ing his butt off. He went thru several mods that the Radio had upgraded and downloaded them. All is good now.

I will print out your info above and keep it for the future. Thanks for taking the time to list everything. BTW... Can I get that update for free? Or do I need to spend some bucks with GM to get the update? Will the Tech II go on line the way it is?

What Do I have to do to get it into the Tech II?
