Default '05 H2 Sunroof cable ???

I'm working through a sunroof issue on my 05 H2. I had some water issues and i think i have them worked out now. Now, from the water, I think the cables have jammed up. Everything was working and now there is no movement from the closed position. I Checked power and ground, ok. Removed the motor and it seems to have the torque to turn the cables but nothing.
Has anyone forced it free from the closed position or is it a assembly removal. ???
I checked for replacement/repair kits and came up MT. Anyone else have any luck. Lexus maybe???

thanks.

The entire sunroof assembly, frame, etc are all one part. There is no separately available cables. You are going to have to figure out what has it jammed up.

From what I've read, there are plastic pulleys which the cables run on that over time degrade. That might be what happened when you were working on it. Mine will open fine but will not close unless I physically pull it forward while pushing the button.

Moral of the story, don't use the sunroof hahahaha.

I only open mine when I need to work on the roof rack wiring, other than that the LEDs on the roof rack make far too much wind noise to have the thing open when driving.

Ya buddy. I hear that. I think its staying where it's at for a whlie. At least its closed. I just have to mess with it at some point though. Found a pic of a damaged cable. I could see it binding in the tube for sure. Hope mine is just gummed up with hardened lube and duck muck lol. I think i will move along to the rear axle input seal. Save the sunroof for a time with spare parts and more time to re and re.

See if I can post the pics.
Nope.lol. first timer..

Get your post count up and you can post pics.
If it's not leaking then I would postpone messing with it unless it is an absolute necessity for you. You will see full sunroofs come up for sale on Ebay and other sites from time to time. Pricey but they'll come up.

that's exactly how mine works …..opens perfectly and needs to be pulled closed while pushing the button......it doesn't have enough power to close.....I have looked and lubed, no difference

I've just gotten used to it. Works fine otherwise. This summer at some point I'm going to be pulling the headliner out to be redone and at that point I'm going to take a closer look and see if I can figure out what is wrong.

I seen some info on sunroof maintenance. I plan on removing and using dry lube teflon spray if i can get it freed up. Alot of it is caused by lube and the lack of maintenance. One issue with a bad /weak motor and being able to stop the gear by hand when removed. I removed my motor and no way can i hold on to that sucker lol. In either direction. But it only good for so much torque to over come the drag.
