Default Found something new on the sunroof

Did anyone notice that the sunroof can actually go back to 2 different settings? When I was riding home tonight from a dinner date a friend opened it up and pressed the back button again on accident and it went back some more. I usually just press the back button once and let it go back, so I never noticed this function. I love finding little new things about my truck

yes, this very subject was talked about on the forum here before. Here's the difference, by pressing the button then releasing once the sunroof slides back to a preset opening.
This allows you to have the sunroof opened with the windows closed. If you were to open the sunroof that little more, you will hear the wind buffeting in the interior, it may actually hurt your ears.
This is not noticed when the side windows are open.

I had the sunroof opened today to the preset position, widows up and it worked great.

It is one of the largest sunroofs I often see.

I just learned yesterday that my sunroof leaks when left open in the rain!

I was just reading some of the previous posts, very interesting. I did have the windows open when I put it all the way back, so I didn't notice the noise. I am going to test the wind flow over the next few days. When I head to the beach I want a good air flow coming through, when I am heading into the office though I only want a little bit.

It is a large sunroof and one of the reasons I got it and wanted it. Although a sun roof like the Ford Edge would look awesome on the 3

Ok, so I've owned my H3 for over two years now, and when I read this, I thought it must be a neat feature that was added to later model H3's since ours is one of the first. I figured there's no way my sunroof will slide back any more, I know everything about this H3. So I was wrong. This is cool. I have a hard time with the wind buffeting theory. I thought I'd get wise and look in the owners book to find out about this. Both the "Getting to know your H3" pamphlet and the owners manual do not say anything about the sunroof doing this. I'm thinking that maybe this is some sort of maintenance thing that the dealer can use to pull the sunroof glass or something of that sort. Regardless, so long as the sunroof doesn't fall out when I'm out climbing a mountain, I'll use this neat feature. Thanks for teaching me something new!

No problem! I also consulted the manual and never saw anything about this. My friend said the same thing about maintenance or something similar, but I won't complain. I like having it fully open now, I do it every time!
