2002 H1 6.5 TD purchased about 6 months ago

recently getting a very loud ticking noise during acceleration that gets significantly louder when braking. The noise goes away when I lift my foot off the accelerator

I’m running aftermarket wheels with a 2” suspension lift and 2” body lift.

any one run across this or know what this could be?

halfshaft?

 

start with checking your wheel bolts. maybe they need to be retorqued since they are new.

 

A quick update - the noise was from the bearings in the bottom or "inner" halfshaft housing. The outer race (cage) broke and the bearings were just knocking around in the housing.

I've been trying to find a replacement set of bearings and race but the reference from flash off road are no longer being manufactured by Rockford CV.

I've found some options at RCV but I can't get specific sizing. Anyone know part numbers that fit?
