2003 H-1 brake job cost
No, I do my own. Parts are cheap. Rotors, brake pads, etc. If you need calipers they are getting expensive. You can find take-offs and rebuilt calipers for sale. Try www.hummerpartsguy.com. Ask for Dave Oberer. H1 mechanic rates at Tustin used to be approximately $160.00/ hour. Someone told me they were $200/hour now but I don't know that to be fact. What is ridiculous? Without calipers I can see you getting quotes of $1,000-$1,200.00. You can buy the rotors and pads for $350-400ish if doing all four corners.
I use rockauto for all my brake stuff , they are no harder to do on Hummers than cars. The fronts
are super easy just compress the calipers the rears you need some channel locks to turn the piston as you compress it... just did mine and went fast

You need to do the simple stuff yourself or you will get hosed, discouraged, and then sell the Hummer. Brakes are simple like pretty much everything else. Just means cranking wrenches. Get a shop manual and get after it. Not Rocket Surgery.
