Default AC not working right

Hi everyone. I bought a 2005 H2 Black a few months ago. I tested the AC when I bough it and it was working perfect. Recently when I've tried it I've noticed it is barely blowing, almost feels like nothing, I can however feel the cold air. Also, you can hear a "tap" noise on the passenger side every 3 seconds or so while the A/C is on, soon as you turn off the AC the noise will stop.

Any ideas? I ran the issue by a guy at a local auto shop and he said it might be the blower or some other part that "opens up" when you turn on the ac/heat. He also mentioned it's a cheap part ~10$ but it'd take 10 hours to take apart the dash (labor would be through the roof)

Sounds like your actuator switch may be broke. It controls the flap that adjust from defrost, vent and floor, if you here a popping noise the little plastic controller on the actuator may be broke. See if it blows out of the floor or defrost harder than it does the vents. I have changed them on other GMC vechicals hundred of times.

thanks for replies, here's an update..

tried it again today and it came on full blast and cold.

However, if I lower the fan speed below the top 2 notches then the fans stop blowing. Very odd... I wonder if it's some kind of issue with the climate control unit itself

Do you have your climate control in auto or manual?

it starts in Auto which is what gets it up to high. I believe once i start moving the fan speed down that it switches to manual. It keeps working if I keep the fan speed all the way up
