Im wanting to buy an H3T and wondering if the alpha is the way to go or if the adventure model with the smaller motor is just as good. This will be used as an per say every day driver as a second vehicle but will make 2-300 mile trips. I have never driven one and wonder about ride quality? Any help would be great thanks. These things seem hard to find with less than 80,000 miles

 

If you are going to hunt for a 3T, might as well hunt for the Alpha, either way, it will be a challenging hunt.

It depends on what you will be using it for, trailer towing? , hauling lots of full loads with 4 people in it? Do you plan on adding bigger tires, like 35"s?

First, do not anybody tell you the I5 is under-powered, as first they would not know how a straight/inline motor works, and next the H3T is not designed to be a speed daemon. The I5 develops plenty of HP/TQ combined with the T Case gearing to do a respectable job off road, with the Adventure Pkg T Case gearing, it can do better than that.

Performance mods can make the I5 come alive, but the Alpha will always be a better choice for any heavy hauling needs and larger tires.
