I am well aware that it is best to have the dealership cut extra keys, especially when there is a theft deterent system involved. The reason I posted what I did is the fact MANY people are not aware of the problems they will face if they just get a "generic" key cut for a PassLock system. Since I don't know youand Ihave no clue what knowledge youhave, it was acorrect question to ask. Especially when you say that if youi wait 30min, it will start. (Thats the purpose of PassLock and the results if it "thinks" its being stolen. After that time has passed, it will again start, but you already knew that, didn't you?)

How do I know this? I was the service manager for a Chev dealership for several years and have seen this over and over again. You obviously don't need anymore help from me since you seem to know the internal workings of the lock mechanism and everything associated with it.
