Default Wiring Question

I have an '06 Base Model w/ 5 speed....done a few mods already...295 BFG TA's, brush guard, dumped the nerf bars for some Rock Sliders, Air Doc Intake, K&N Filter. I recently acquired a set of PIAA 520 Driving Lights. I haven't installed them yet...waiting for a little warmer weather :-) I was planning on using a factory switch for a nice clean install. My question...would the factory switch handle the draw of the PIAA's??
Thanks In Advance!!

Rick

Use the factory switch to switch a relay.
Let the relay contacts switch the lighting load.
Check the specs on the amperage rating for the lights and match that to the relay contact rating ( oversize about 1 1/2 times ).

Thanks for the info....the lights have a relay in the harness already. Was planning on swapping the PIAA switch for the factory one, so I could mount it in the factory position on the dash. The PIAA relay should do the trick right??

If you have factory fogs, just tie into the wires that power them...Much easier than rewiring the whole thing, you might have to upgrade the fuse rating in the fusebox.

The PIAA relay will work fine with the factory switch.
