I really hate chrome. Does anyone know if they will make the Alpha minus the ugly chrome. But I really want the Alpha.

 

I'd like to see a tactical Alpha. I don't like chrome either.

My 2008 Lux has no chromeexcep the front grill, which was an unusual combination. It was the only one like it on the lot. I may opt for a color match grill in the future.

 

I found them makeing a "Tactical Version" w/out an off-road package such a joke.... I would love to see the tech/alpha hit the show room.

 

Sure they will be letting more regular/low option Alphas out of the box. When is the question? They are selling all the loaded to the gills versions up fron to recoupe model investment ASAP. They are selling, and the profit margin is higher than a low or reasonably optioned unit. Every one I have seen has way more stuff on it than I want for sure.

 

I agree, my alpha is loaded up and I dont like the chrome. Luckily, i have a full set of black door handles and mirrors to swap out. then, I plan to swap the grille with a color coded (graphite metallic) and the rims with the 2 piece beadlock.

Right now you can't order it from the factory that way, but you never know -- maybe they'll make the engine a stand alone option next year -- but don't hold your breath.

I'd look for someone who wants the chrome handles and mirrors and would be willing to swap - there are plenty of folks out there.

 

I wouldn't call those little wheels they put on the off-road package an "off-road package" either.


There are two ways to look at it, a Tactical truck such as what you would find in Iraq or somewhere in the hills. Or a tactical truck that the swat would use, in such case, the regular road package is more than enough. I prefer the offroading concept, but to each his own.

 

Either style would be ok, but I'd go with the chrome package.
