Default When it comes to the great outdoors...

what do you guys think would make more sense to chug around the woods in. The H2 or H3. Based on your knowledge, opinions, experience, etc. Even personal preference. Which of these two is more suited to rolling over protruding rocks, fallen trees, and all that fun stuff. Were they designed to do the same things, only in large and medium sizes, or are the differences in capabilities between these two trucks like night and day. This will help me make a final decision, because originally I intended on acquiring an H2, but if its really not even necessary then I might consider settling for an H3. The reason being is because my price range can either get me an older high mileage H2 or a far newer lower mileage H3. Ive been tossing and turning over this thought for weeks and cant seem to come to a conclusion. Want H2...but H3 probably makes more sense....yes or no. Thanks in advance for all your input!

kind regards,

Rob

I have both the H2 and H3. They both have about the same ground clearance, but the H3 has a shorter wheel base. The H2 is a softer more powerful ride, prob. because its so heavy. The H3 is firm and sturdy. Although both are good platforms, The H2 does need a little room to move than the H3. I personally like the H2, because its beefy and I feel like I own the trail. With any 4X4, there are limits to what it can do. So keep in mind that the Hummers we buy are mainly driven on the streets, but have the ability to perform very well off road. If you want to do light to moderate off roading then your fine. If you want to do a little rock crawly, then you may want different tires, possibly a 2 or 3 inch lift, underbody protection, ect. The stock Hummers are great for mud, puddle jumping, hills and trails. You can have a blast with a H2 or H3. So I guess the best advise will be to decide on what you want, ;earn everything about the one you picked and hook up with other owners to go play with. I found that a few hours in the mub equals a week worth of cleaning. I always completely clean my Hummer when I return for paying. Investing in a small preasure washer is a good thing. Also, to me, cleaning it up is just as much fun, it gives you good bonding time with family and Hummer and lets you inspect areas under the truck that keep you rolling safe.
