Default Wheels with -24 offset question.

Has anybody mounted aftermarket rims with a -24 offset? Has this caused premature wear on your bearings? Affected handling, ride, etc? I'm looking at rims that are 20" with 33x12.50 AT tires. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks

Not an H2 guru but going from the stock 35" tire to a 33 will not only look ridiculous it will also throw off the Speedo and the onboard mpg calculator.

Stock dimension is 34.4", but tire dealer is saying the set up will rub. Which I find hard to believe since Hummer offered a 20" option and wheel diameter is 35", which is why I asked about the offset.

I recently put 20x10 fuel rims with -24 offset on my SUT with a 35x12.50 MT , no rubbing what so ever & I think it looks awesome

Mine are a -19 offset, 4.25" backspace. I wanted to push the wheels outward to be in line with my fender flares and it was perfect.

These tires fully inflated were much taller than the stock 35" BFG's and there was no rubbing at all.

I still wish I would have gone with 37s because every now and then I think the 35s look too small. Personally 33s would look completely out of place, like you couldn't afford a bigger tire.

For the offset you have to realize what a positive and negative offset is doing to the wheel. Negative is closer to the hub from the centerline of the wheel which pushes the tire outwards. This moves the tire away from the hub, swar bar, etc. I had rubbing on my passenger swaybar with the stock wheels and no more with my aftermarket.

You can easily stay with 35s (that is the stock size) with that offset and you shouldn't have any issues. I don't know what dealer you are going through but check out tirerack.com for options and advice. You can call them and they'll walk you through the whole process.

Thank you Thunder Cat and LoJac963. Your rides look awesome. With research and reading through all the old threads, I was questioning what this particular dealer was saying with their fitment guide.

Thank you again for the information and feedback, it's definitely helpful. I'm going to go through TireRack as recommended and will post pics when I find something I like and get them put on.

Cheers-
L

No problem, glad to help. You can see how tirerack ships the wheels in the background of my second pic. Interesting for sure, all the lugs, wrench, center caps, etc are bubble wrapped inside each wheel. That was definitely a new experience for me lol. Being in CA though they ship through OnTrac so I had them in 2 days-LOVE OnTrac!!

I've had good experience with TireRack in the past, getting tires for my Rover. I've been combing through all kinds of wheel styles (want chrome for my white SUT) and figure I'm going to spend around $3k...just need to find the style I like.

If only I were still in SoCal, OnTrac would be great!
