ORIGINAL: H24fun
I got a thumbs up today. My husband and I were out cruising around. I was driving...cause I'm selfish that way[sm=gears.gif]...anyway, he told me some guy in his front yard gave me a thumbs up. I said "are you sure it was his thumb?".....my first "gestered" reaction, an emotional day, indeed

Hi All,
Being so rare in the UK, I think I have seen it and heard it all from Thumbs up to full on ****** signs thrown at me. Hey but as long as that’s as far as it goes,I can live with that! Proud to drive my Hummer, have all the cars, got all the cars, but I love my HUMMER full stop!
Also being Asian I was expecting loads of abuse from the anti USA Asian lobby crew, but not a single thing, only praise and admiration for the H2, went to a family wedding, I drove the H2, my brother drove the Ferrari. Everybody came running up to the H2 and started taking there pics with it! Was driving through the city in the summer, and there was a load of USA tourists hanging around (coach), as soon as they saw the H2, had the thumbs and USA chants. Made me laugh. Seem to get the abuse from other road drivers and your average stuck up British, green CND party lovers. This sunday in Bristol was crusing, when I saw this family as soon as they saw the H2, they started to stare at it in disgust shaking their heads from side to side, inculding their ugly teenage kids. Could'nt resist it, but put the window down, and gave them the finger as I went past. I SMILED

Saw a guy in a dodge viper the other day when I was in the H2, and right away as soon as saw me he waved out. It was like a USA vehicle bond thingy!
Just for the record, I have had the H2 for 6 months, had have done some serious laps of the UK in it and have only seen one other, a jet black one in Birmingham, and it was Sikh guy with a turban driving it…lol. Nice guy, love the unity between the H2 owners! Makes u proud to drive one.
that sounds like fun, weapons, lots of fun.
They used to be pretty rare around here, but my brother got an H2 several months ago now & works here, so i see his 20 times a day, and it seems like they are more common out and around as well.
I will say that as i own the truck longer, i pay less attention to the reactions it generates.

i'm not sure if i'd get white again or not, and if i did i think the bro did a better job with it than i did. but i have bigger tires.
This is a good post, so i have to leave a little something. I haven't had my H2 for long now, but generally responses are from guys giving some sort of compliment. This is always nice and much appreciated. Although, the other day I got by far the worst response which was hilarious to me. My buddy and I were at whataburger around 4 am after a long night of partying and we get our food and start to leave. Then, I look to my left and some deustchbag maybe 20 years old has two middle fingers in the air and a chicken strip in his mouth and the angriest look I have ever seen on a single persons face. He was with like 3 of his buddies and then they all start flicking us off. I can't really understand why people would do **** like this, but I guess jealousy just took place or something. Anyways, just thought I'd share...
Went out this weekend, went to Bath, first for the HUMMER had a pairs of V's stuck up...as soon as they saw the Hummer coming towards them! Its got to the stage, where I am getting used to it!!
Although I'm new to the Hummer scene, I've been the victim of this type of deplorable action/vandalism by others throughout the ownership of two of my current vehicles...a Corvette and a new Chrysler. Just last week, for no apparent reason other than possible ignorance and/or jealousy, someone decided to 'key' the right/rear quarter panel of my Corvette as it was parked in a shopping center parking lot. A few months ago, and in a completely different parking lot, somebody purposely scratched the upper left/rear quarter panel of my Chrysler.
Although both of these vehicles have always received nothing but rave compliments (they both look sharp) from those who I've come across at various different places/venues, I can only surmise that the intentional damage was caused due to jealousy; i.e., the fact that the perpetrator might not possibly have the financial wherewithal to afford such vehicles. I am in now way wealthy, but simply one who has worked hard, saved/spent wisely to be able to accumulate those physical possessions that I own/have owned.
BTW, I went ahead and joined this forum prior to becoming a fully fledged Hummer H2 owner myself. My wife and I did 'test drive' a pre-owned Hummer H2 last week, and we were very impressed how comfortable the ride was and how easy it was to maneuver...and yes, it was our first time driving/riding in a Hummer. We have decided to sell/trade-in our Corvette and utilize those funds toward the purchase of a pre-owned Hummer H2 from our local Hummer dealer. I'm currently awaiting a prospective buyer's final decision with regard to my Corvette, and hope to be 'making the leap' to a Hummer H2 sometime soon.
