Well, I guess living in a state where our 'Governator' is famous for driving his own H1 when he wasn't filming his action movies, I really haven't noticed any citizens paying any particular attention to ours, be it positive or negative, during our three days of H2 ownership; however, my son and his buddies continue to remain 'awestruck'. Heck, you'd think they were riding in a limo or something, by reading their facial expressions via the H2's rearview mirror. [sm=insomnia.gif]

I was in the army for 9 years and still had to have the H2 the first day i saw one. I was in NY and gas was up to $5 a gollan! Do you know that is when I bought my H2. Went to the dealer and gave up a Mazdaspeed 6 black on black. If you don't know that is it is a turbocharge 4 cylinder with AWD(good in snow)!! The dealer was laughing at me. The first tank of gas was around $112 and I thought maybe I made a big mistake? Evertime I drive it, I just think WOW! Their is nothing else and I had a lot of cool cars like a 04 saleen 281SC ( didn't work in snow)!
In NY (up state) lot of snow and people were like cool H2, but I wouldn't want the gas bill. Drove it in NY for almost a year and all around good reactions.

Moved to CA and lot of good and lot of bad. I worked as a Mach and people would think that the H2 was one of the vehicle that we were working on. So, I think that it had brought us costumer's, because if some one that own a hummer has it fixed here than their good! One day coming out of work my H2 had been eeged and had sat in the sun all day. That was the first day that I thought what the hell? (It even chiped the paint a little)

Me and my boy decied to go out to go trail riding! Found a place called Hole Jimmy trail. When we started it didn't seem that bad and I made it fun(so to turn bad). I want to go on ever hill that look hard and lot of trees and brush (scratches). Then I found mud and more mud. The mud hole I went in to no one was around and after starting in it, a crowd came from no were. The first time mabe good idea, but the second time not so much. They reovered me after braking front CV shaft. I was 50 mile from home. So took out a zip tie and secured it out of the way and drove it home. It is a black H2 and you couldn't guess the color. People were slowing down to take pic and a thumbs up from everone. Yes people do love a mud Hummer(three week to come clean not fun)!

Parked out front of the house the H2 had be broke in to. I lived with father in law and he drives a escalade and he was hurt that he has lived their all his life and never broken in to. His wife said "well it is an H2" (ha ha I thought). Then few days later eeged out front of house( I made up new words that day).
The biggest question was gas from CA people.

Now I live in MO and theirs not that many H2. So out here people are like WOW! No gas question because everone has a truck that dose no good on gas. Everone in MO just want to drive it or see the in side. In a parking lot the chance of their being two H2 is slim to none. My family won't drive it fear of wearking it and of fear of wanting one!!!

The point to all of this is that I cann't live with out it!!! Wouldn't trade it for the world. I wouldn't change a thing about it. All the others vehicle Iv'e ever owned Iv'e wanted to change them. The hummer mabe add a few, but not change.

After owning a used 2003 H2 now for about a year, I noticed that there are quite a few Hummer's running around eastern Idaho here in the snow country. However the trend is that they are mostly driven by women. They really feel safe and solid in a Hummer.
The funniest time I had was when I was in Boise on State business and hitched a ride with a fellow board member and his wife who are quite wealthy. She was driving her brand new expensive hybrid and started cussing SUV's and Hummers in particular.
Her friend leaned over and nudged her and said " Tom drives a Hummer "
I make no apologies as I am the 2nd largest Military Vehicle collector in eastern Idaho, (Hey, what am I supposed to drive to maintain my image)
To me the cost of fuel is not a problem as I run a whole fleet of vehicles and fueling the H2 is the least of my problems.

In Vegas my biggest response is people wanting to have their picture taken standing next to or in the driver's seat of my H2 when the valet pulls up -- Aussies in particular. But then I love Aussies so it's all good.

Some of my classmates who did not know I had a hummer brought up their very negative opinions of what they thought about Hummer owners and how horrible they were for the environment and not pratical or efficient. I stepped in and told them I owned an H3 and that it was actual very Efficient as it is powered not by gasoline BUT by hippie tears.
No flames I'm joking. I've just got use to people going after hummers as being personnally responsible for Global warming even though the truck and the sports cars they may drive themselves don't get much better gas mileage. HA!
