What the heck! Engine runs hotter than it use too!
Please provide assistance before I jump out of a basement window!
I had the scent of coolant with no noticeable coolant loss and after several people including myself (aircraft mechanic) could not identify its source I changed everything knowing it was going in the wood hunting next week and I need it to be dependable.
I changed the radiator, thermostat, hoses, belts, and water pump. The one piece thermostat that they tried to sell me didn't seat or bottom out on the new water pump so I used my old housing and new thermostat that did feel like it seated. My H2 use to run two needle widths to the left of the 210. Now under 55 it seems ok but when I go over that it gradually increases to 235 or slightly higher at 75 mph. When I slow down to 55 mph again it cools down to normal after a while.
Any input would be appreciated. I have put a few hundred miles on it this way so air lock I can assume is a non issue.

A few things... Are you sure your hoses aren't collapsing? Have you checked the dipstick and bottom of the oil filler cap for milky residue (head/head gasket problem)? How did the thermostat look and did you boil check it to make sure it worked (pan of boiling water)? Do you smell antifreeze in the exhaust? I would also bleed the collant system just in case...
I have not seen the hoses collapsing other than at one time the engine was off for a few minutes and the top one was collapsed. Both are new.
Have only had the oil changed one time, I purchased the 06 H2 used a month ago with 130k on it and nothing out of the ordinary was noted. I don't smell coolant out of the exhaust and not missing any that I can tell. I did not boil test the new thermo since it was new.
About bleeding the coolant? How does one accomplish this?
Thanks for you help!
