I recently bought a H3 for my wife and although I was looking at the Aries Nerf boards, after some research I ended up paying a little extra and buying the Nasta Nerf bars, they are completely chrome, all the way back to the securing bolts.

My 2 cents.
I have the OEM chrome nerf bars. I love the look but I worry about the adverse effects here in the "rust belt" of the U.S.. I had a set of chrome wheels go bad after only one season of winter weather here in Ohio. The nerf bars are in a hostile enviroment where they are located.

Also there are different levels of quality in the chroming process. Something to think about when looking for bargain.

Something to keep in mind with Nerf Bars. They will get ruined off road. They will have to be taken off. Now that would not be too bad, but if you do take them off, you expose the rocker panels for major damage. So you would need to bolt up some rocker protection. The only problem is you can't put them both on at the same time and then just take off the Nerf Bars. But you can bolt on rocker protection and individual steps that you can take on and off if you decide to take it off road while leaving the rocker protection on all the time.

If you are going to stay on the road, then Nerf Bars are fine.
