Default What causes front end wheel bounce?

I'm getting some wobble/bounce when i hit a pothole, especially if the wheel is turned slightly, like when you shift lanes....

What should I be looking at to fix this?

could be a number of things in your suspension or steering. getting an alignment should be able to narrow it down.

Could be a worn steering rack bushing. It will cause excessive movement on expansion joints on the road at highway speeds. Feels like your rig is hopping to the side in the front.

If it is, Offroadoutfitters.com has the fix for the rack.

i second what tainter said. the kit from offroadoutfitters is a great kit but its pricey. if you want a good fix for it and dont want to spend alot then buy this...Rack Mounting Kits - Hummer - H3 - Ultimate Power Steering. I ordered this myself and am waiting for it to arrive.
i am getting the same things happening when i hit a bump/pot hole on a corner.

As stated above, good chance the bump steer is caused by a worn-out passenger side OEM steering rack mount bushing. That's what happened to the one on my H3T (went though 3 worn-out steering rack bushings).

My problem has been solved. I have been running the PCF ScorpWorks H3 steering rack mount on my H3T for the past 4 months (if you Google search: "H3 steering rack bracket " - the very first search result is the ScorpWorks bracket).

The ScorpWorks steering rack mount addresses the total rack mounting issues - which includes supporting the weak factory passenger side rack frame mount's thin metal mounting pad as well as allowing for the GM factory-designed steering rack's ability to float in its mounting. To date, I have over 4,000 miles on the ScorpWorks bracket (including a few hundred miles of offroad trail miles (AZ and Moab) and have had ZERO issues with the mount or the steering rack. All movement of the steering rack is completely gone as well as the resulting bump steer. Even my local GM dealer/HUMMER service facility has been inspecting the product & is now going to give their out-of-warranty H3 customers the option of replacing their worn-out OEM steering rack brackets with the OEM bushing OR the Scorpworks bracket because they have been closely monitoring the results of the one on my H3T & they are impressed with the PCF product. I have personally helped install 4 of these brackets on H3s and there have been ZERO issues with any of the installations. Great product, with a proven track record. Just letting everyone know that there is more than 1 solution to this H3 steering rack issue.
