Shackle lift causing a bounce when braking
Anyone else have this problem after installing a 3 inch shackle lift? I noticed it only happens when I am coming to a stop between 5-10 mph. It's just a few up and down sways when I am about to stop. When I have passengers in the H3 it's gone. It looks great. I am guessing it has to do with the leaf spring being so bent that its swaying with the tension when I brake. I bet I wouldn't have this problem if I went with the add a leaf... Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions. Eventually I plan on going with a real suspension lift. This was just to short term solution.... Thanks!

I tried those for awhile and it changes the balance of the vehicle. It shifts more weight forward so the rear is not as balanced. Sort of the drag racer stance to keep the front end down but then you need to add traction bars for that. If you load down for traveling and camping or add passengers it may help the reaction you are getting but increased different angle of the shackles will eventually flatten your springs due to the leverage and angle pushing down on the end. It will even cause the spring pack to arch apart after some heavy offroading.
It may add some more drop in the suspension but at the wrong time may be a problem in stability. It is a good idea to check full droop of your ABS brake lines running shackles. This will also allow stock shocks to top out or over extend reducing the quality of the ride and life of the shock. Like alot of things, it's a trade off for not much gain. Just my opinion after trying it for awhile on my 06. I did not do this to the Alpha after learning that.
The add a leaf or just a rearching of the springs is the better way to go. I don't think it is necessary for my type of wheeling.
