Weird Noise...Help!
So I noticed the other day on my way home that I have a metal-ish grinding/scratching sound coming from what seems like my front driverside wheel well. I can only really hear it at speeds 25mph and under. The sound is in tune with the wheels as i get a scratch sound once every rotation based on my speed. Turning to either side doesn't make any difference. Sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not as i drive home. I've taken both front wheels off and examined the suspension/brakes but nothing seems to be loose or worn. My CV boots look fine with no cracks that I can tell, and my brake pads looked new and calipers were tight. My first thought based on the sound was that the metal dust shield behind the rotor was hitting at some point every time the rotor went around but it looks solid. Anyone have any ideas or experience with something like this? Pads/Hub bearing/CV going out? Thanks!
PS - it's an 05 H2 SUT with 35" tires and 17" aftermarket wheels that have been on for years. No recent off roading. Didn't notice it going to work but definately did on the way home.

PS......... I MOVED this for you from the Drivetrain Area where it says: This section is an archive of older posts, please post new questions in the specific model section. Thank you!
to the H2 section where all questions regarding H2s go.

For informational purposes, what would be the best grade/brand we should look for?
I picked up a set of Timken hub assemblies on rockauto.com for $130 each. Those and the MOOG assemblies seemed to be the preferred alternatives after i did a little research on the forums. Swapped out the driverside Friday. Wasnt bad except getting the stubborn caliper bolts loose took a bit of heat and a breaker bar. Took a small drive up to the grocery store afterwards and seemed to be better. Will update again Monday afternoon after ive taken it for a longer drive on my morning commute to work.
