Default Video of Finished Install of Hood Handles of my H3T

Just installed a set of hood handles on my 2009 H3T and I think they look good. These are similar to the H2 and H1 handles and will keep the Hummer family look going Forever!

Here is the link to my Video of install steps with some restoration needed and photos of her sporting the hood handles. Any questions, comments, or concerns?

I installed mine by drilling thru the louver and the hood, then used bolts to hold everything down.
It solves 2 problems.
One being that there is a recall in effect for that louver that states it will fly off because the clips that hold it on crack and fail. The dealer "fix" is to glue it down permanently.
Second is that by bolting it down you secure it against flying off if the clips fail and you can remove it to clean underneath the louver once in a while since you no longer need the dealer"fix".

Here's the bolt down method:

Default Thru bolting of Hood Handles

I was thinking about this fake grills being now heavy with the handles coming loose and hitting the windshield. I did inspect and clean the grill's spring clips and make sure they were working. Some spring clip corrosion was found and I expect failure is very likely from wind and road vibration in the hood.

Great ideal on thru bolting the handles as the fix as I was going to coat each spring clip with JB Weld later. For thru bolting I add that a spacer or stack of washers between the hood and grill to prevent crushing the grill while tightening down the handle would help with looks.

My next project underway is replacing the crappy leaking plastic radiator with a 100% aluminum welded radiator. I'm also looking into the option of a separate transmission cooler if I find electric current in the coolant to battery ground test with a mix of DI water and Dexcool.
