I was just about to install some SS Hummer letters on the bumper of my '07 and realized
G-Style didn't send me a tube of the primer that usually accompanies crap that is to
be stuck on with 3M tape. Is this a must have for proper adhesion?

Can I just get by swabbing the area with 90% isopropyl alcohol, letting it evaporate then attaching the letter?

I sure as hell don;t want the damn things flying off driving down the highway....

 

Swab, do not drink, the etoh! You may use solvent or etoh to clean and prep the surface for adhesive emblem type tape.

 

alcohol will be fine,it cleans surfaces really good

 

I figured I'd be ok with the Iso, but I remembered how sticky that primer made everything on that last set
and was afraid it was like a two part system or something........

 

You'll be ok, I got some letters from another company that forgot to send me the prep. kit. Had the letters on now for about 5 months and even with pressure washing they're not going anywhere.
