Default TWO H3 questions I hope to have answered...

1. When you hit the sunroof button and it auto goes back, why does it stop about 2 inches short of being fully back? I have to then hit the button a second time to get it to retract all the way.

2. I have a 2007 H3 I just recently purchased. I chose one that did not come with the free 3 months of xm radio (knocked off a few $100)... but if I did want to subscribe to xm radio at a later date I assume it is xm radio capable? I do not want to have to get a whole new head unit for xm radio, so do the 2007 H3's come xm capable even if you did not get the free 3 months? The radio (at least appearance wise) seems the same.

Thanks in advance.

I could be wrong here, but going to take a guess for ya. As far as the moon roof is concerned, I have experienced on other vehicles with them that if you're a rear passenger and the roof is completely open, there's a lot of wind noise in the back. Im guessing that has something to do with having that option to leave slightly open.. As for XM, not sure, mine came with it.

1) https://www.hummerforums.com/m_80432/tm.htm

2) Sounds like you didn't get an XM ready radio if it shaved off cost. The XM trial is free. If you have an XM radio, if you cycle through the "BAND" button, you should get XM1 and XM2 even if its not activated. there will be a preview channel and your XM id displayed for you to activate. If it just goes through the FM and AM preset optionsand never says XM after 5 or 6 pushes...you'll have to get an external XM unit or get the GM XM unit that hides in the dash.

The head unit is the same and is XM "ready", but if not equipped with XM from the factory, the GM system is kind of pain toinstall - set aside an afternoon for your first time, or be prepared to pay a pro for about two hours.

1. Ghostrider gave you a link. The short answer is that the sunroof is designed that way for optimalair flow and noise. You have the option to open it all the way -- but you ought to be below freeway speeds when you do it.

2. No comment on XM.Shoulda left it in when you bought it.

The sunroof is typical. Mine does it too. An annoyance but not a big deal.
