So the Trans is 85% of the entire truck?? So that means $25,000 of the MSRP was for the worlds most common transmission of all TIME!!! Dude I have no idea who you are H3Ray, but from what others have said idk why you even continue to post if your all about "Tundras". Sell a broken h3 and buy a Toyota?? I mean I personally date women but whatever your into its cool.

Also selling my working H3 for $16k.....broken who's gonna pay more than $6k, to then have to put money into it to fix it? Ya know since the H3 is such a POS. So for a max $3000 fix your saying take a $7000 hit and make it someone else's problem

I think I've heard of Denville Trans before. I work in Rockaway and live at the other end of Green Pond Road by Rt 23.

I ended up using Trans Specialties in Pompton Lakes on RT 23, right across from Pompton Motorsports. They use to be located in the Wayne area. The final price was $2500 everything said and done with the 1 year unlimited miles. It would have been cheaper if I didn't need a whole new pump and if I didn't go with some of the upgraded parts like the Sunshell, 13 vane rotor, etc. But since it's already ripped apart why not replace the other common weak points!? If I just stuck with all oem everything the price would have been about $2000 or $1800 if I didn't even need the pump replaced.

How bout you sell your Hummer and buy a Tundra?? then you can leave this place. The rest of us can give good helpful information to those that need it, and not have to deal with an idiot who certainly has no clue about vehicles. there are many here who have worked on alot of different vehicles and have a clue. Maybe someone would take you seriously if you have a clue

Nice, definitely good to go with any upgrades since its out. I'd go with an aftermarket trans cooler too. I bypassed the oem unit in the trans and using only the the B&M 70264

I consider ALL of the vehicles we purchase to be investments and modification of those vehicles is an invenstment also.

Reason: If my wife or I is happy every time we drive or play with our vehicles it is an investment in our happyness. They say people who are happy live longer. So I guess we are also investing in our personal human longevity too.

In my opinion you don't own a HUMMER or any other vehicle. You might be about 10-12 years old and maybe your Daddy or Uncle owns an H3. You stop by to pick fights after becoming bored with playing you Xbox or Playstation that Daddy bought you. You have asked so many questons about things that people who own and have had to maintain a vheicle would already know or even know how to research.

Please, refrain from your constant "sell it and buy a ______(insert Toyota vehicle here)___".

Even if it will happened, that your transmission won't be so good after period of time, when you changed ATF and filter- try to find used, rebuild or even new transmission and fix your Hummer! After that, you can use it for the long period of time without worry about your transmission! For sure, transmission replacement is expensive but it's still worth it and for sure it's not 85% of the price of any truck! Of course, everybody's' financial situation is different one from another one, but, in my opinion, try to fix it!
My transmission failed several months ago! My good friend- mechanic try to use any kind of options to avoid tranny replacement, but, unfortunately, I, finally, need to replace it! My mileage was around 125,000km on it. Thing are happened sometimes, but it doesn't mean that all transmissions could fail at this point or Hummer is not good truck! HUMMER IS REALLY GOOD AND RELIABLE TRUCK!

I paid $3k out the door to put a GM reman trans in our old '06 because we needed the truck back on the road ASAP. The forward sprag failed, not the pump in our case at about 150k miles. While your trans is out of your truck, you might want to consider having your sprag replaced too with a beefed up aftermarked part.

Regarding investing in vehicles, I feel that over the years, I've gotten every penny back from being fussy about maintenance and repairs using high quality parts. The only exception was when our '06 was totalled at 160k miles and we had to buy an '09 with only 18k miles to replace it with a vehicle in almost as good shape. Insurance companies don't pay out a premium for high mileage, all original, and perfect vehicles.

Mr. Tainter:

Let me fully understand your mindset ... You are saying your happiness depends upon you driving and owning a Hummer? Am I following you correctly sir? Also, it's happiness not happyness.
