Transmission Mystery
I have an 07 H3 that has developed a transmission problem that no one seems to ever have heard of. When it drive all is fine, shifts proper, etc. If I have to stop for any reason, it's like I shifted into neutral. I have to shut down & restart to resume driving. Called many repair places & searched the net but haven't found an answer. Seems like it must be some electronic module since shutting down & restarting corrects it. It doesn't matter if I'm in drive, 1, 2, or 3.
I'm going to ask some questions?
* Did you recently have any work done to H3
* Did you use your cruise recently ( if so is it stuck in on position)
* Did you or do you have a cell light on dash
Possible remedies...
* Battery cables are bad or connectors to battery
* 4x4 controls are stuck or funky
* Trans fluid and filter
* Trans wiring or solenoid's
* TCM is having troubles
Etc...

No recent work done. Battery cables are good & snug..Don't use cruise control. What is cell light on dash? I'm afraid, if any, it's going to be the TCM. Taking to shop tomorrow. Will let you know the diagnoses.
CEL = Check engine light.
2007s do not have a TCM, the trans is controlled by the PCM.
Miles on the vehicle would have been helpful.
Let me re-phrase a question.. Do you still have the crappy azzed OEM Battery Terminal Connectors? If so, replace them with an aftermarket quality set, like Stingers or your favorite brand. #1 cause for H3 electrical gremlins, the stock terminal connectors are complete junk and ALL of them fail, not if, but when.

I stand corrected- PCM- thanks. They said at the transmission shop today that there is a code and it's electrical, possibly the pressure control switch. I will check the battery terminal connectors when I get it back & replace them too. Will let you know the outcome tomorrow, Their electric expert will be in tomorrow so they will let him trace out the problem.
