So, I'm new here. I bought my H3 about a month ago and have been lurking this forum since, so I figured I might as well make an account.
I have a 2007 base model with 106,000 miles. Not for sure, but I don't think the last owner did regular fluid maintenance on it. The oil was dirty, and the transmission fluid appears to be dirty.
I've already done an oil change, transfer case fluid change, and differential fluid change.
What I am working on now is a transmission fluid change. I have a filter kit in the mail, but while I'm waiting for it to arrive, I'm pumping out 3 quarts a day through the dip stick tube, and replacing it with fresh fluid. Anyone see a problem with this?
Also, has anyone tried Lucas transmission fluid conditioner? Any feedback? I don't see any problems with my transmission, but can this help with preventative maintenance?
Btw, I have never tried Lucas conditioner in the trans? However, I know Seafoam "Trans Tune" has corrected many shifting issues. Trans flush after is recommended.
That is what I used. Off Amazon for $20 each. I bought 2. Went to buy more last night and they jumped to $35 each, but still had quarts for $5 each so bought 8 of them last night
Where they mailing the filter kit from????? The Yukon by Mule Train? No need to waste $$ swapping fluid you intend to change again like next week.
I hope you ordered a filter/gasket set for the H3, it is a one and only as the filter is shaped differently than all the other GM trucks with the 4L60E to clear the funky H3 trans pan shape.
Check your Vin# to see if you have to add additional fluid in the T Case from the speed sensor like the 2006 and early 2007s with a vin prior to 5GTDN13E778100102.
Interested observer here and I'll jump in with a comment and question.
My H3 has a similar history of lack of maintenance I believe. Has 183k miles now. Carfax shows transmission pan was changed at 50k (original owner claimed to not remember why but also said he didn't ever do any fluid/filter changes). I assume that has me running on at least 133K mile old fluid.
Dropping the pan and changing the filter results in 5 quarts of fluid being changed. Out of a capacity of 11 quarts, that seems to be a lot of dirty fluid. I assume that is why OP is pumping out and changing.
But, I've heard warnings about transmission flush at this point, so I'm thinking that fluid/filter change is all I'll do for now.

I added a drain plug.... welded on a weld nut same size as the oil pan thread 12MM x1.75 and stuck a fumoto drain plug in it. Drive it, drain it out after couple weeks and refill. Gets rid of more of the old fluid. You can repeat if you want.

Actually, shaped alike, the difference is deep vs shallow pan, H3's have a shallow pan.
