Transfer case removal
So I've seen several tutorials and videos on splitting the h3 transfer case. Everything looks pretty straightforward except none that I have seen talk in detail about the actual removal from the truck. So I went under the truck tonight to see what I was facing and everything looks good, except for the nut that sets on the upper left of the case. There appears to be no room to turn a wrench up there at all, or use of air impacts. I think the other 4 will be ok. Maybe once the trans brace is off maybe it will sag down a bit and allow loosening of this nut? Anyone who has tackled this give me a heads up! How did you get to this nut?
Last time we used a Shorty Ratcheting Wrench from a set we bought at Harbor Freight.
Take the TC Control module off FIRST! Then you can clock(maneuver) the TC around until it drips down through the framerails and cross supports.
