I had the same issues with my 2008 tranny. It died at 174,000 miles. I had a rebuilt one installed with a 2 year warranty. Also had to change the radiator at the same time. That makes a total of (3) radiators I've replaced, and no I dont beat the **** out of it. it is my daily money pit, I mean driver. I currently have 195,000 on my H3. next is a engine rebuild.
