Default TPM question

Hey guys,I was wondering if the spare on my H3 came with a TPM sensor so I can do a 5 tire rotation. If not can one be installed to do a 5 tire rotation.

If your valve stem is not rubber then it may have a TPM. Take a look at the other rims and you can see what I am talking about.

From the factory GM stopped adding them to the spare in early 07. That does not mean that the previous owner didn't add one.

Thanks for the info Tainter,So if I add one to the spare then the spare pressure will be checked as well as the other 4 with no problems. Nice to know. Why haul around full size spare and rim if you cannot rotate it in!!

No, only the 4 actually on the ground are monitored.
There is a learning procedure to follow after rotating the spare into the mix.
The H3 learns the 4 on the ground and ignores the spare.

Procedure is in the owners manual.

Well, if you do not have a full size (same size as the other 4 on the ground) with a FT AWD/4X4 H 3, you do not have a spare. You can't use a mini or different size. Nothing stopping you from rotating in an un-monitored tire, back when people had brains, no cars had tire monitors and we still managed to drive them.

BTW, I never rotate in the spare.
