I just put new tires (including spare) on my 2006 H3 and had no problems at all with my TPMs.
I am not an expert but I would make sure they don't turn on the key at anytime during the tire change so it will never sense a low tire pressure.

Are all your doors closed when you initiate the procedure with the ignition and the headlight switch?

While the issue has been brought up, I'd like to also say that my "Service TPMS" warning is on my DIC.

I have a 2006 Adventure model, 70,000 miles. This year I ran over an Electronic cigarette on the street and it pierced my new tire! (The Rage was strong that day)

I fixed the hole with a plug and a can of fix a flat into the tire. Didn't realize that I basically just destroyed the TPM sensor, because when I attempted the reset/relearn multiple times it kept failing on the Tire that I dumped Fix a flat into. Sad day.

You dug up a FIVE + year old post, whatever your question might be, it is unclear what it has to do with the OP inquiry (ie. Do you have to reset the TPMs after a rotation?)

The answer to the OP .... is no, you do not have to reset after a rotation.

Try a SEARCH, read what you find, then..... if you did not get your answer, ask a question in a NEW thread. Check this out, search results from this most incredibly difficult inquiry "TPMS reset" Hummer Forums - Enthusiast Forum for Hummer Owners - Search Results
