can someone gimmi some info on tire rotation? i see it mentioned alot here.

usually what i do with tires with my other cars is, since the engine is at the front and its heavier and front wheel drive, the front tire usual wears 2x faster. i put the back tires at the front, and put new tires on the back. so only changing 2 at a time. i dont know if its better or worse but its what ive done.

but sounds too cheap too do it on a hummer haha

 

Rear lh tire goes to rh front and rear rh tire goes to lh front...then drop the fronts straight back to the rear. I've rotated mine every 5000 miles so far and the tread wear is really even. I have 15000 miles on my H3 (oem tires show very little wear) and I am looking to get some better tires for snow.

The whole tire rotation takes me about 30min with a floor jack, 2 Jack stands, air driver, and a torque wrench.

 

you say lh, rh Tyre.....so i assume i can just take the whole wheel and exchange around? cause its identical. haven't really looked. cheers btw. really helpful

 

You're actually crossing the wrong ones according to the manual and standard rotation procedure. Your fronts cross and go to the rear. Rears move straight forward. If you're doing a five tire rotation, you're LF goes to the spare position and sits out a round and then goes to the RR on next rotation.
