TIRE PRESSURE VALVE SENSORS
Hey guys... I got myself some new rims for my 2006 HUMMER H3. I want to install them without the tire pressure valve sensors. I contacted the dealer and they told me my light on the dash would just stay on... Anyone have any feedback to this? I also heard it can mess with the ABS BREAKS or RADIO???I need someinfo... THANKS!
dear lord....DO A SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
to answer your questions...your dealer has no f-in clue!!! THe service tpm light will come on ONCE at each ignition cycle, just push in the trip odometer button thingy and it will go away and stay away until you shut off and restart the truck. that is all...no chimes no constant light, just a once per igniion cycle warning message taht is easily cleared....now that is if it works at all. My truck has not had any sensors for months now and I have got the message like 3 times....do not bother with buying new ones....waste of time and money.

No to Luke..as long as you use your original wheels the sensor is mounted on the back side of the valve stem..inside the wheel..
and to Ronald McDonald..It has been reported that if you take all your sensor off, including the spare, the TPM system will go to sleep and not bother warning you..as there is no sensors to monitor..IMPORTKILLER can varify this.

The tire pressure valve sensors can be switched to most any new wheel and or tire. They are located inside the factory wheel. They unscrew from the wheel and are easily attached on the new wheel. Any good wheel and tire shop can R&R the sensors. I do not think that you can run without them unless you want to look at the sensor light on all the time.
Actually rick, you are incorrect. You can run without them with no problems, as I said above. the serv. tps message will come one ONCE per ignition cycle, a simple push of the trip odometer stem will clear this message and it WILL NOT appear again until your next start up. I have been running without them for months now and have had the serv. tpm message come on 3-4 times, it's a dumb system that hardly works....if ever. The serv. tpm message is just that...a message...it does not effect anything else in the truck. Also there are some aftermarket rims that the system will not fit on.
