Taking the back seat cushions out

Taking the back seat cushions out
While my wife is watching "the game" I'm going to go out and take the rear seat cushions out to make room for more stuff when I move. I'll take some pics of it. I forgot who did that here but said it was a piece of cake. I think it was Ghostrider

RE: Taking the back seat cushions out
Be careful - I took the same advice, removed the bottom cushions only to reveal three big post that can potentially rip the top part of the seat. In other words when you put weight on the back of the folded down seat, the only thing stopping it from hitting the floor is the three gnarlly metal post that once held the bottom of the seat to the floor. If you apply pressure in this situation then the top of the seat will easily get a hole punched into it. I have leather seats and as soon as I saw the potential to ruin the leather, I just put the bottom cushion back in and will not remove it again. Bad idea if you ask me. Even when you take the bottom cushion out the floor will not fold down flat. It's not worth it if you ask me.

Mark, I was actually making room for US big boy
OK I did it and took precautions because of the bolts. Thanks for the advice. I probably would not have thought about that until it was too late.

RE: Taking the back seat cushions out
I put a baggie and alot of tape on the nust that I left barely screwed on to provide a flatter surface. There is only 1, the center 1, that pushes really bad against the seat. The rest of them barely touch, even when I sat on them with my hand underneath It should be ok. Here are the results:

RE: Taking the back seat cushions out
I just put my seat cushions back IN and even though I put the protective plastic cap on the bolts I got a nice or not so nice indentation on the seat back that is not popping out. Make sure you put something hard and flat and strong over these bolts or you will have the same indentation. I am thinking of glueing a H3 emblem over the indentation if it does not pop out as it is exactly in the middle of the seat back and might even look good.
