yes richard that's what my 2 books say, 07 and 09 say it the same and then says miles in usa and kilo in Canada. I don't think you can change the odometer.
don't know what Europe books say.

The odo can not be changed manually.
It has to be done with software. You can send your whole thing in to replace it with one with km markings. They change your miles into km so there can not be any fraude.
The white markings (outer ring) is the one that is set for your car.
The yellow is secondary.
I drive in Belgium with the miles odo. And it counts in miles.

Thank you all for info. I have today made an appointment for downloading of software at the GM dealer here in Stockholm, Sweden. Yeess...I will finally get my km's ;-)
