Talking Is it supposed to do that? (in low)

Hey guys! I just purchased my 08 h3 yesterday and am already addicted to it. ( They say the first step is realizing you have a problem) Anywho, when I put it in four low, it gets really jumpy!!!!! I mean jerk you around a bit jumpy. I have driven four wheel drive vehicles before and did not have this issue, so is it normal on the h3? I have only tried it in parking lots so far so I want to be sure before leaving the pavement for dirt heaven. Thanks in advance!

I don't think there is anything wrong with your truck, BUT I'd avoid putting it in "4-low" on pavement.

Back over the winter, when I'd pull out of slush/snow into a parking garage, my truck would be pretty jumpy even in "4-high locked" for the few seconds before I would disengage and go back to normal, "unlocked".

Going into "high-locked" or "low" on pavement is rough on your drive line. Find a nice dirt road to test your 4-wheel drive modes on.

when you turn in any car,all 4 wheels turn at different speeds because of the turn radius.
when youre in lock mode they all try to turn at same speed. they jump as they break loose on dry roads. eventually the driveline "breaks" loose, big bucks.

in lo lock with locked differentials, all 4 wheels are mechanically locked ,adventure model.
driving in grass will show shreded grass as u turn! good for crop circles huh!

u should be careful not to bump the buttons when doing other stuff.
be safe, use the left, 4 hi button UNLESS U NEED SPECIAL TRACTION

Cool Holy CRAP! Thanks!!

Yeah, I never really tried trucks or jeeps on the pavement, so I would not know,( always been at mud bogs, new years rides, or fifty plus four wheeler rides) Thanks! I won't switch it on over pavement again! Yikes! You guys are great, I want this monster to last a life time, she is my baby. Mucho appreciation!
