Has any one swapped out the Factory sub from the Monsoon system with another 8" sub ? I am in the process of doing a mild overhaul of the sound system and will install new speakers throughout being driven by a JVC Dual Din head unit inot an Alpine PDX5 Amp - As you all know, space for a 12" sub is non-existent in the H3 so I though I might just keep the enclosure for the factory unit and replace the driver with something like the Pioneer TS-SW841D or JL 8W0. Has anyone done a water capacity test of the factory enclosure to calculate exact volume ????

Yes I did. I used a JL Audio 8W1v2, good bass. I'm using a Pioneer Avic-D1 head unit with Alpine PDX-5 amp and MB Quart seperates up front & MB Quart coax in rears. Good sound all around.
