So, I go to start the truck up today, and it is stuck in park and will not allow me to shift gears. Dash says it is in 1st gear. A message flashes saying "traction control system failure." Any idea as to what is causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

searching should shows something, im forgetting what comes up on that.
I killed the solenoid on the shifter so I can shift any time , no batt no nuttin,no brake, just shift like we did a hundred yrs ago!
sol under the shift trim, ez to kill.

 

Could be the shift control cable. Cable runs from shifter to the drivers side of the transmission.
