strike 3 for the H3
well when i first got my h3 it stormed and my sunroof leaked and something behind my dash got wet and the truck wouldn't do over 30 mph. took it to the dealer and they said the cats were bad, replaced them and assured me that was the issue. couple months later it happened again but this time it would not start, i let it sit in the sun for a day and everything was ok. called Hummer, called the dealer got nowhere. this past weekend we were about 10 mile from anything and it was really humid, to the point you could see water dripping from under the dash. We got to out destination and shut the truck off and let it sit for about 20 minutes. when i got back in it all the truck would do was turn over. its now 2 am phones don't work and onstar doesn't work. i pulled the battery let it sit, waited about a half hour and put things back together. still the same issue. i did notice my radio said security or something like that on the screen. so we set off hiking back in. at about 5:30am we reached the closest town found a phone, called a ride went back to get a truck and trailer and towed my H3 in. we finally got done about noon on saturday. i left the truck in the sun and by 5 it was good to go again. obviously its something with the trucks security that does not like high humidity but i don't even know where to start. its not under warranty anymore. I'm weighing my options now, i love the truck but thats not acceptable, the weekend before we were in the same place and i had my twin 3 year olds with me so i'm glad it didn't happen then. i've went to a few dealerships and im looking for an 08 or newer now and an Alpha if i can find one.
Was the rain the first time that has happened? I'm wondering if you had water dripping into the truck somewhere and is sitting in a harness. The heat could cause it to evaporate a little bit to the point where it isn't shorting out. Then with the added humidity, it could be building up again. Just a thought. Good luck with your search!

1st off what is this, there are 4 bare wires and a blue connector. the harness was pointing straight up and the 4 wires were bunched together and are bare on the ends

2n here is the 1st time i was ever happy to see my truck on a trailer. I think this was about 10:30am.

Well i think i found it, there was still some moisture in the big harness that goes to the steering wheel. Are those wires and harnesses just fog lights and roof lights? they are to the left of the Brake pedal by all the other harnesses.
Not sure which ones but they shouldn't be bare. Chances are that was your problem. Make sure you dry it out really good. But the question is still there of how did the water get there? Once it is dry, I would try a little bit of Dielectric grease on there to help keep the water and moisture out of it. Plus it will help stop any corrosion from happening.

it surely must be leaking.
u can check it by pouring water in the 4 corners,,been discussed here a hundred times.
when i first got
my used pontiac mini the carpet padding was soaked. i fixed a leak, then put in a small elect heater for about a week to dry it out with the carpet lifted up.
dude. that sucks i would crawl under dash. get someone to soak the cowl area and see if you see water dripping somewhere on a harness. other than that it might take a while for you to find it. and sunroof. just get another seal around it and take it to body shop and get them to tell you if it fits correctly or if it had damage before.
