i wish Hummer made duramax H2 as well. for a rig this size and demanded performance, duramax/alliosn is a must. thats the difference between european and usa market. manufacturers make diesel option for european market

i have been reading comparisons btw airaid and KN intake, most owners suggest there is no difference, and its not even worth it. whats your take? i know you use airaid. thanks

I used an airdoc with the factory box. I have an '09 (6.2). It felt like it picked up quicker and was generally a bit more responsive. When you take out the factory "seagull" that the air has to travel round and compare it with an airaid or airdoc it's not hard to see where the difference comes from. The K and N pipe is probably the same sort of thing, the issue is the cone filter that is left in the engine bay to suck up the warm air. There's a half attempt to seal a part of the engine bay off, but i don't think it's as efficient as the factory box/volant style box which insulates the air feed more (in my opinion).

The airdoc makes a nice intake noise on mine, as well as some seat-of-the-pants feeling. I don't regret it.

You may have to crank your T-bars a hair if there's slight rubbing, but that's it. If you are looking for even larger tires, a few posters here have done body lifts & gotten away with 38" tires. The stock wheels will be fine up to a 13.5" wide tire (assuming you don't have air ride. With a 13.5, I believe there might be a little rubbing.

The 6" bulletproof, according to the website, can be adjusted w/o aftermarket keys, to achieve 8" of lift. It claims you can put 40s underneath. I feel that a lit with 37s will look dinky. You'll want some meat underneath to fit the look. You'll most likely want a 38x15.5 or 40x15.5.
as you suggest, i can put 37/13.5 in stock rims only, will i need torsion keys? do i need 2" lift just in case? thanks

You'd most likely need to crank your torsion keys to avoid rubbing at full lock.

Unless you have a need for 13.5" wide tires (they aren't that common), just go with 37x12.5r17s and call it a day.

Here's my 08 on 37x12.50x16.5" with about a turn of the torsion bolts,
I need to do another turn or two yet to level the front out.
My control arms are all original so i'm sure they are worn out, and I have replacements waiting to go in.

With that being said I get a tiny bit of rubbing at full lock which I am confident will go away with the new arms, and especially with a tiny bit more front lift.

Tires with the weight of the hummer measure 36.3", and were 36.5" with zero weight on them.

Hope this helps...Name: Daily%20H2_zpsgfn0zryq.jpg

thats a beast, great looking truck. im happy now i will pick 37/12.5/17 will look good. at beginning of post some owners say stock height would be ok to accommodate 37/12.5 just crank torsion keys. and rubbing is minimal
are those Toyo MT ?
