Get belt squeal first startup of day in morning, lasts about five min. then stops. Rest of the day startups, it doesnt happen. THanks

ive had that on other cars,not hummer. batt was being pulled down at nite,heavy charge in the morning brought it up,driving kept it up,overnite,repeat.
u mite want to look at volts b 4 startup, and right after.
ive seen abt 12v in morning,then a jump to 15 for a few min,then 13.5+ running,(from memory)
but i dont see that on h3 with better charge control??

 

No, Doc, 2008 Base Model. Yea squeals a few minutes in morning, first start. I leave for work at 5am, go home at 130 pm and restart to go home dosnt happen.Just seems that morning initial crankover. Thats why i was thinkin bout changin out the belt. Im at 80,000?

 

May not be your case but can be an initial sign of an exhaust leak around the manifold area. I've had 2 broken manifolds replaced on my 07 and possibly another one on the way.

 

Since belts are pretty cheap, and easy to change, give it a try. Maybe buy two if you find a good deal so you have a spare?

 

You might also hit some of the pulleys on the belt with some lubricant.

 

Dealer replaced belt, and Tensioner.
