SPEED LIMIT??

RE: SPEED LIMIT??
Aren't the H3's capped right under 100 mph like most other SUV's!? This simply isn't fast enough for you or !?!?! Keep in mind what you're driving .. it's not ment to be a speed demon, it's an offroad vehicle. I don't think I would want to know what the gas mileage is, even in an H3 at 100 mph ... and I certainly don't want to know what my H2 would require fuel wise at the same speed ...

RE: SPEED LIMIT??
Here in Germany it is no problem to go faster sometimes;-) My wifes father has a ML 320cdi that goes over 150mph without any problem.
We dont want to drive long distances over 100mph but sometimes we wish that its possible to do that.
My dodge cummins has also no limiter, just a limit from max engine rpm. My favorite highway speed is around 100mph. Never any problems with it.
By the way the H3 is equipped with a Prins LPG system, so we drive 50% cheaper than gas.

RE: SPEED LIMIT??
Hi Tom, Welcome to this Forum
Well sorry but no, I haven't got a solution. If you re- program the PCM I gess they will take off the limiter but I am against that solution for me.
I perfectly understand your problem, last winter I drove from Munich to Kolding on my way to Denmark and that, was hell!!! Maybe GEIGER ( HUMMER main dealer)has a valid solution in Germany.
If you find something let me know.

RE: SPEED LIMIT??
You can hear me comming down the road for at least 5 miles at 100mph whhaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrr and it will cut out over 100mph. Theres no reason to drive that fast in a H3. How much faster you going to get somewhere going 100 vs 80mph? Drive 100mph in your H3 I don't care. Do it in Florida and I will pull you over! heh The day I pay $700 or more for front brake pads on my H3 is the day I look at buying a Toyota Prius (which will never happen)

RE: SPEED LIMIT??
I just put a turbo from turbonetics in my H3 and a borla exhaust. What I think is thatmaybe the reason why some people want to take the speed governor off is because 1- they like speed and are aware of the risk, or 2-like in my case want to go and just try in a drag strip without cutting my speed just right before the 1/4 mile ends. Not that I want to race on the streets or highways but in a 1/4 mile strip??? Its really badwhen you are winning and smoking the other car and because of your SPEED LIMIT! the other car passes you or does better time. So does anyone here has an answer to takethe speed governoroff??

RE: SPEED LIMIT??
ORIGINAL: JM
This afternoon I was driving on the highway and for the first time I tried to reach the H3 max speed.
BUT, when I reached the 100 mph line the engine abruptly stopped ( ignition cut off )... and re started again just below the 100 mark!!
is there a speed limiter built in or is just my car?
if there is one, does anyone know how to by pass it
