Default Speaker System For H3

Hey guys, Im new to the forums here, just got a 2009 H3 a month ago with Adventure package and the upgraded stereo and sub in the back, cloth seats, no sunroof, or chrome package. But I had a quick question. My buddy in the Marines is going to be selling his two 12" Kicker subs in the box and the amp, before he gets shipped out, and I was wondering if this stock premium sound system in the H3 can handle it or if I would need to get something to run it from like a head unit or any thing else. Its a good deal, and Im not usually the one to have a big system in my vehicles, but like I said its a good deal and he doesnt need them. Any comments would help me out. Thanks.

You could run it with the system in car you would have to splice into the sub in the car or one of the door speakers so your box will pump with your music. I do not know if a remote wire plays in this situation which basically tells the box when to turn on and off with your car stereo. Also you would have to run a power line straight to the battery with a fuse block by the box's amp but thats always required when installing a box. Size fuse and gauge wire depends on the amp and speakers. The biggest issue I see is you would probably need a capacitor. Since you have the stock system putting a drain plus the additional subs and amp. It will probably pull more then the alternator can dump into the battery. I strongly suggest going to a car audio place even best buy and just asking some questions. Its not a issue of can it work its more of how to make it work and how to keep the wiring clean and is it cost effective for you if you have a stiff budget on this. Best of luck.

Thanks Tony. I would have the speakers put in at my local Best Buy. I have had them put in stuff on my old car and have done a great job, and if there was a problem, I can always go back and get it worked on with the receipt. So if I do buy them I would go and get some questions answered from them. I figured I would ask here first incase anyone has already done this. Especially input like buying a capacitor. Thanks again. Anyone else have any info or have had something like this done?
