Default Sounds like it's raining...

My T has a new noise when going down the highway, some kind of wind noise. Best way to describe the sound is big rain drops on the windshield. Not really sure where it's coming from, but the wife and I tried pressing pretty much everything inside we could touch and nothing helped. Could be coming from vents, sunroof, windshield or surround, or who knows where. I'm pretty confident it's coming from somewhere forward of the front seats. No sound when driving around town, so it's speed or wind related.

I'm hoping this is a semi-common issue that others have heard of and know just what the probably cause is. If not, ideas?

I have had the rubber seal between the window and the A-pillar plastic make a sound like "making popcorn" at high speeds and/or high winds. The dealer replaces bothe of the A-pillar plastic pieces and the noise went away. Others have used some clear 3M double sided tape and "glued" down the offending rubber seals with great success.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm... Your description sounds about right. It's not as loud as "making popcorn" but sounds like it may be it. Of course tonight when driving on the highway trying to isolate it, no sound. Tonight was calm, maybe it was windy when I heard it?

Yeah, it wasn't every time but with cross winds or going into the wind I could hear it.

I just bought a 09 t and noticed at higher speeds it makes the same noise... Good to know it's an east fix.
