Sounds to me like you have an aftermarket system installed on your truck that can work with the factory fobs. I used to install these years ago for Circuit City when I was in highschool. I can tell you eventually these systems fail and crazy things start to happen. I have an aftermarket system on my 03 and I am dreading the day it goes downhill. (It was already installed when I bought the truck).

Steps to follow.

Unhook your battery and hold your positive and negative terminals together for 10 seconds. Let the truck sit for an hour. This will discharge the entire electrical system in the truck. Hook back up and see if the problems persist.

If they do then:

I would pull your lower dash pad and see if you have a black box under there that has a wire harness that has a bunch of wires spliced into the main vehicle harness. Odds are you do and that is the start of your problems.

If you do not have an aftermarket system it sound like this will be a BCM issue and your going to have to find a GM dealer with a Tech II to service it.
