Dang thats scary. Based on where it was, is there any chance it was somehow in the door seal area and dropped onto the handle when you opened the door?

I guess that it a possibility, although I am not sure where the door seals are. We have plenty of Bull snakes here, and before I got cats it was not uncommon to have them in the house too. I have had them in the kitchen, coming out of the bathroom closet under the sink (when I was sitting on the throne!), and one even in my purse in the walk-in closet. I am thinking that a cat may have harrassed it and thus caused it to seek escape into an opening into the vehicle, and I wouldn't be surprised if I was driving around with it for days under one of the seats until it tried to escape by getting on to the door handle to get at the window. It was discovered when I was leaving work but I doubt it got in at work as I have never seen a snake at work. BTW, perhaps it is only the Bull snakes who got into the house and into my vehicle because they have the length to get up and in as they are much longer than the everage Copper Head or Rattler (although I know Rattlers can grow to be rather long too). As mentioned I am just greatful that it was discovered before I pulled off as I may have driven off the road and caused an accident.

Thanks for your suggestion
Michal

Wow that is crazy ! Lucky it was a baby because they grow to 8 feet long. I'm glad to hear you were not driving at the time.
