This should be a stupid question.

Just purchased a 2008 H3 - The key ring contained a small key, which is NOT mentioned in the owners manual, not can I find the associated lock. Can anyone help ?

It probably had cross bars on it at some point

 

Since you just purchased it, (and probably haven't yet put gas in it), you may also want to check for a locking fuel door, but my money is on the cross bar roof racks also.

 

Also if you have a tow hitch lock you get small keys for those aswell I have one for mine.

 

the guy had a small shed in the back yard,,or a storage locker at the bus station. reminds me of a Bogart flick!!

You're lucky to have that smaller key which means you were given an extra parts for free!
