I just got my 05 H2. Hopefully I will get pics soon and post them up.

I started it up and moved it to check pressure and pump up the tires and heard a noise from the head liner. It was coming from a small, maybe half dollar sized plastic thing with a bunch of holes in it. It actually had a clear plastic 'sticker' over it.

What is it??? I am looking in the manual but havent seen it yet.

 

Just to clarify its position, it is just above and to the left of the drivers head.

 

It is for the automatic climate control for the a/c. They will go out and generally make a whining noise or buzz when they go out. Some times you can push up on it and it will stop for a while. Hope this helps.

 

It is making kind of a buzzing noise. Almost like a small air pump for a fish tank.

Guess the first day I own my Hummer I have to call the dealer to find out how much to replace that thing. Dang, I guess welcome to the club!!!!

 

You sure that it's not the OnStar Mic???

 

I dont know. I dont think it is. There are 2 things on the headliner over the drivers head. One is almost at the back of the door and is the one I am talking about. The other is further forward. I dont recall exactly how much further, I would have to go look to confim.

I found some other post on the web on a tahoe forum that described the same problem. The part was cheap, around $15 from the web. But to replace it you have to pull the front pillar, the pillar between the 2 doors, and then rubber molding around the door to get the headliner to drop.

I may just ask the dealer how much.
