Slight grinding at 1500-1800rpm
Well my 3's at it again, this time it threw a P0014 code "B camshaft position timing over" "Advanced or system performance bank 1"
From what I read I decided to replace the camshaft position sensors/vvt solenoid & changed oil and filter to royal purple (needed oil change).
The check engine light is off now, but I notice a slight grinding around 1500-1800rpm, almost like metal/metal contact. It does this regardless of engine temp/speed. I began noticing this about a month ago, my first guess is timing chain, but thought I'd get a second opinion from you guys.
So anyone have any idea what it could be?
Any help is appreciated, Thank you!

Timing chains stretch over time. Grinding? T Chains make more of a rattle or clanging than grinding, but we might be talking about the same racket.
When you ask a question like this your vehicle miles is an important piece of info. regarding T Chain life. I would not expect enough stretch to mess with VVT & trigger a code until at 120-150K miles, but some go a lot farther than that before there is an issue. Then again, it is a man made part, so they can be messed up under a 100K miles if they were defective.
I wanted to add (almost forgot) changing the timing chain on the I5s is a pain in the azz, makes you talk and swear at yourself.

Sorry forgot to mention that, it has 106k miles, and it's a basic 2006 model with the off road package. it might be more of a rattling than a grinding, I just didn't know how to describe it.
The only thing is though, it only makes the noise at that rpm range, anything over or under and it's completely gone.

This noise is coming from the engine compartment?
Can you duplicate the noise at a stop? In park or neutral? Or in drive, apply the e-brake and hold the manual brake, while increasing the rpm's.
If you can duplicate the noise at a stop, pull the drive belt and recheck (keep an eye on the temp gauge when running without belt so it doesn't overheat)
