Sirius XM radio in trouble
Is Sirius and XM the same company?
My radio is XM, but it advertises Sirius as well.
Looks like they are in trouble:

I have two Sirius radios (one in my wife's Compass and one I use on my bike). I'm paying for the main subscription (bike), an additional "family" discounted second radio (Compass), and the high quality internet stream. When I bought the H3T, it came with XM. I contacted Sirius about adding the H3T radio as a third and they said I would have to create a new contract with XM. They can't combine subscriptions across XM and Sirius platforms. Seems dumb to me. Not sure what I'm going to do when my free 3 months ends. Sounds like their future is fairly uncertain. I have read on another message board, that they will make you a deal if you ask. One guy got a year of XM for $77. Might have to try that if they are still around in 3 months. I just hate the thought of having to go back to broadcast radio. I just can't deal with all the commercials anymore.

there is talk of Sirius XM being bought by Echostar. If that happens who knows what will happen to provider(s). thoughts are one network will carry audio only and another network will be migrated to video. my gut says, XM network for audio, Sirius for video. This because Sirius already carries three video channels. Echostar has a chip provider they are working with that can compress video to under 1mhz bandwidth per channel.
