Default Sirius on my H3 factory radio $84.98

I'm completely psyched. I'm a big Howard Stern fan so have had Sirius & XM for years. My previous vehicle had XM built-in, so to get Howard Stern, I was paying 12.99 for the base XM plus like $6 extra to get the extra Sirius channels over XM. I recently bought my 2006 H3, which I'm absolutely loving, but while it came with a 6 disc CD player built-in, it had no built-in satelite radio. I prefer Sirius to XM, so went looking for solutions. I installed a Sirius Sportster, but the reception was horrible and I hated having to take down the radio & put it away, so I went looking for options. I found a factory add-on from GM for Sirius that can be easily added to the factory wire harness so it's just like your H3 came with Sirius built right in. You're able to control it using the factory radio & it's just a unit that goes behind your factory radio, so nothing to take down & put away.

The unit model is SIR-GM1 and regardless of what any website/dealer tells you, this unit will allow you to get Sirius working in any H3 of any year that has the BAND button on the factory radio.

I found it at crutchfield for 89.99, then found a coupon for $20 off $100, so I bought a 14.99 1GB SD memory card to put it over $100, then applied the coupon which brought the price down to $84.98 for the kit & the memory card . The crutchfield website will tell you that it is not compatible with our H3s, but it is.

coupon code good through Dec 31, 08: 3A172

I'm ok with wiring and doing stuff myself, but not a pro & it only took me an hour to hook it up.

I'm so psyched. The sound quality is great & I'm really happy I don't have to take anything down when I park and I'm really happy the Sirius is integrated right into my factory radio now.

If anyone wants any help doing this I'd be happy to give more info on what was involved in setting it up.

Way to go man. I love sirius. My H3 has XM, do you think I could convert it over to sirius with this item?

You sure can, and it's even easier for you because the harness/plugs already exist for you. It's just unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one. You still have to take off the dash panel which was a little touchy, but yeah, you can do that.

Read the info in this ebay listing:

I put in the SIR-GM1 on my H3 and love it! Easy install less than an hour worth every penny. I never had XM either you just have to use the Y harness they supply with the kit.
