well, in NJ at least no one can be turned away from the er....so the wait times are amazingly long. my son had blood pouring out of his head and we had to wait 6 hours till he was called in...he ended up getting 32 stitches...16 in and 16 out. I wanted to kill someone that night

but it was funny when I got pulled over in the hummer. The trooper took my licence and starting laughing...said he never thought he'd pull a hummer over with Michael Moore driving.

OH MY GOSH..

Here is my solution.

National Health Insurance. Not socialized health care, but actual health insurance. It is taken out of you pay check every month, and if EVERYONE has to pay into it in won't cost a lot (aprox $50-$80). Have a low annual deductable ($300) and a $40 co-pay. That will help off set the coat and discourage unnecessary visits. But 2 preventive check up's a year are at no additional cost. . If you are not working You still get a card, but it will be deducted from you Social Security or Unemployment. All Doctors will recieve a flat rate (geared to the current national average) for type of care rendred. All Doctors must accept this flat rate for the first 5 years of pracitce in the US, But after that a Dr. can choose to charge additional fees to be paid out of pocket by PT if they choose. One more thing! ER's are not Dr.'s offices. Paramedics & RN's specially certified in emergency care (not just NP"s) will be able to work under Dr.'s orders to treat and release minor illnesses in Triage or the Field . If you do not meet "Emergency Care" criteria you will not be transfered or admited to the ER, and a Dr.'s apointment will be made for the next day.

Well you got me started!

Vote Todd in 2008!!!

all I know is that we are getting hosed right now (my personal situation)...My wife got a new job while on maternity leave...her old job sent her a letter saying that she owed the amount they paid for her health coverage while she was on maternity leave because it says in her handbook that she must return to work for 30 days after any medical leave in order for the benefits for the time of her leave to be paid by her employer...so we had to send a check for $3000 to them...lawyer said there was nothing we can do. Now she is on COBRA which will cover us fully until her new jobs benefits kick in (3 months)...COBRA is costing us $1450 a month. Thank god her new benefits start in January cause we are barely scraping by now.

Canada's Tax Rate[:@]:
[*]15% on the first$37,178 of taxable income, +[*]22% on the next$37,179 of taxable income (on the portion of taxable income between$37,178 and$74,357), +[*]26% on the next$46,530 of taxable income (on the portion of taxable income between$74,357 and$120,887), +[*]29% of taxable income over$120,887.

Not that I KNOW anything about it, but it's NICE to be in a CA$H Business!!

That's a lot of money taken from your check......and I thought that socialized medicine would be a good idea
